Pumpkin Pie and Ag Literacy Week

Warsaw FFA members and Bernadette Harwood, FFA advisor and agriculture teacher, celebrated Ag Literacy during two weeks in March. FFA members visited elementary classrooms to share the book “The Pie That Molly Grew” by Sue Heavenrich with their younger counterparts. Then, they taught elementary students how to make pumpkin pie in a bag. Some students were reluctant to try the sweet treat, but others embraced the new flavors. It opened up conversations on how pumpkins start as seeds and eventually make it to the dinner table in some of our favorite dishes.
