Technology makes the world a much smaller place. This winter, when she posted on social media requesting Valentine’s Day cards or post cards for her class, Cheyanne Smith never could’ve imagined the response. The class was inundated with correspondence from around the country and world. By February 14, they had received cards from 33 states, the Philippines, and schools in New Mexico and Alaska. The class sent response letters back to their counterparts in other schools. Smith decided to extend the Valentine’s Day deadline, so the class could possibly receive cards from all 50 states. Students created a map chronicling the locations from which the cards were sent. What an incredible way to spread kindness and help teach students that the world is smaller than they think.
